- Page title. Really really important. Don’t make your homepage page title be: “Welcome to obscurity”
- Keyword consistency. A site called foobar.com about foobar with a home page called foobar (rather than Welcome), will generally rate number one for foobar.
- Content. Use a lot of text. Unlike people, spiders like a lot of text. Be wordy. Flash and pictures on the page are ok but the page should be full of text. Best yet, get the code off the page into a css.
- Use your keywords in the content. Several times near the top and hopefully, within a few H1 and H2 tags, alt tags, and title tags.
