Publish hundreds websites that each earn $1 a day profit or Publish 1 website that earns $100 a day profit? Both of them have its own problem. Most people end up somewhere in between. Having 100 websites leaves you with maintenance, management and content issues. Having one website leaves you open to all sort of fluctuations (search engines algorithm’s, market trends, etc). You can adapt your plan on the way, but you’ll have an easier time if you start out going in the direction of where you want to end up.

For me, less website with more income is better since I can use my time to something else outside my online world. How about you?

1. Determine your goal.
Although your goal is quite clear, which is get the front page of Digg, knowing in which category you are fighting on is really helpful. On average, you need at least 70 or more Diggs for majority of category. But for less competitive category, 30 Diggs maybe enough to bring your submission to the front page.
2.Knowing characteristics of Digg community.
Did you already notice that there are more registered male users than female. Also, have you notice that the age of Digg users are somewhere between teen and twenties, liberal political view and most of them have no college education. These facts are important to determine your strategy.
Articles about Apple, Google, open source, or environment are proven to be preferred by the users. On the other hand, articles about George W. Bush, Microsoft, or SEO are less interested.
3.Do submission by using good account.
Already known and trusted user or submitter usually easier to be dug. You don’t have to be top user to lead your submission to the front page, but at least your submission won’t be concluded as a crap submission.
Becoming top user also have a lot advantage although you need invest your time and dedication. Once you become top user, you are one step in front of your competitors.
4.Don’t write crappy content.
Writing crappy content is not only waste your time but also destructed your name. Before you write, it’s better to do some research about your niche and allocate your time to know 20 last Diggs. See the pattern and exploit it. Just like general pattern of web articles, fabulous content = more Diggs = more traffic. Write the good article and make it great!
5.Promoting with correct timing.
If you ask your friend to dig your stories, then do it within good time frame. No matter you promote it by email, IM, tweets, Facebook, or anything, do it so it seems natural. It will be very strange if you receive one hundred digs after one hour and only five digs in the next 24 hours.
6.Prepare your server.
Have a good story? Prepare your server for your own good. Receiving 10.000 visitors in one hour is possible if you reach front page, that’s why

Just like I wrote in the beginning, more you deep inside Digg, more you can elaborate all the tips and tricks then lead your story to the front page.
